Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Comms Platform)
Affirm is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Comms Platform team to lead re-architecture, high availability, and internationalization efforts. You'll own quarterly goals, mentor engineers, and build highly available distributed systems using Python/Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
- Support peers and stakeholders in product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics.
- Proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
- Support operations and availability of team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.
